Frequently asked questions
Do you work with businesses outside Columbus, Ohio?
Yes. We are based in Columbus, but we work with small businesses anywhere in the United States. The work and the dashboard are the same — only the time zone changes. Most of our communication happens over email and video calls regardless of where you are.
How does custom pricing work?
After a free intro call we scope the project, send a fixed price for the build, and a flat monthly for hosting and ongoing support. No tiered packages, no hidden add-ons, no long-term contracts. If your scope does not fit us we will say so up front.
What does the hosting dashboard show me?
Page speed and Core Web Vitals scores, uptime history, top pages and traffic sources, visitor counts, and form submission counts. When something needs attention the dashboard flags it and we get the same alert at the same time, so we fix it before you have to ask.
Can you help if we already have a website?
Yes. We migrate existing WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, and custom sites onto our managed hosting. We can redesign in place or keep the current design and just modernize the underlying stack. URLs and redirects are preserved so your search rankings are not affected.
How long does a typical website take?
A focused small business site is usually four to six weeks from kickoff to launch. Sites with custom functionality or larger content scopes run eight to twelve. We commit to a real timeline at scoping, not a guess, and we share progress weekly.
What AI tools do you typically recommend?
It depends entirely on the workflow. The honest answer is most small businesses get great results from ChatGPT Team, Claude, or Microsoft Copilot configured properly, plus Zapier or Make for automations. We only recommend custom AI builds when an off-the-shelf tool genuinely cannot do the job.
Do you require long-term contracts?
No. Hosting and ongoing support are month-to-month. If you ever want to move your site somewhere else, you own everything — code, content, domain, hosting account — and we will help with the handoff.
What if we need ongoing support?
Most clients keep a small monthly hosting and support plan that covers updates, monitoring, backups, and a few hours of small changes. For bigger projects we scope as we go. You always have a real person on email and phone, not a ticket queue.
Who owns the website after you build it?
You do. Source code, domain, content, hosting account — all yours. We are happy to put it in writing. We treat clients like people who could leave any month, because that is what keeps us honest about the work.
Do you handle SEO?
Yes. The foundation is built in — fast performance, clean markup, proper headings and metadata, schema, and a sitemap. For ongoing SEO work like content strategy and keyword tracking we either help directly or recommend a focused SEO partner if that is a better fit for your budget.
What about our data privacy with AI tools?
We set you up on business-tier AI plans where your inputs are not used to train public models, write a one-page policy for your team about what is safe to paste in, and recommend self-hosted or vendor-isolated options when data is sensitive.
